Accountants give advice and goats

It's always nice to get featured in the Press. Here's what Sydney's leading sunburban newspaper group had to say about Accountants ........ and goats!

...............................................

A CARINGBAH accountancy firm is helping families in developing countries by donating goats and providing clean drinking water — and they are doing it from the comfort of their office.

The Director of Eclipse Accounting Group, Brett Woods, said he was inspired after hearing about the Buy1GIVE1 scheme.

Also known as B1G1, the transaction-based model allows businesses to choose from a directory of gifts that make a real difference in developing countries.

Mr. Woods said the scheme made helping others easy and his staff opted to provide goats to families in Kenya and clean drinking water throughout Africa.

"It is a way for businesses to get in the mode of giving," Mr. Woods said. "It is a systemised method and it takes the hard work out of it for a business owner. You fel like you're doing something to help people in the world."

Eclipse Accounting has organised a seminar with the chairman of B1G1, Paul Dunn, at the Brighton Novotel on August 2 to discuss "adding speed, adding purpose, changing lives".

The firm is offering 60 minutes of free business advice to new clients and will donate a goat to family in Kenya.
