Just by receiving a card from your friend, you’ve created an impact.

You’ve given a meal to an orphaned koala joey.

As the weather begins to warm up, our native Australian animals begin to move. They’re out and about looking for water, a friend for mating season and adolescents from last season are becoming more confident in their exploring. This also means there are sadly, even more patients being admitted to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. During this period, if a mother koala is hit by a car or attached by a domestic pet, an orphaned joey is sometimes left to fend for themselves. These joeys are often brought to the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital for care.

An orphaned koala joey will need regular milk formula feeds every three to four hours, depending on their age, size and health.

ABOUT AUSTRALIA ZOO WILDLIFE WARRIORS

Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors take action to support conservation and defend our most threatened wildlife species and natural habitats. Their conservation projects in Australia and abroad work to mitigate human-wildlife conflict, reduce threats caused by human-related activities and provide support to injured and endangered wildlife – from the individual animal to an entire species. As the human population grows and moves further into wild places, we’re placing more pressure on our natural world than ever before. Poaching, road traffic, domestic and introduced animals, habitat destruction and the illegal wildlife trade continue to push native species to the brink of extinction. With the support of our fellow Wildlife Warriors, we’re working to build a future for both wildlife and humanity.

A SPECIAL GIFT OF GRATITUDE FROM US

This Season of Giving, we are giving our members a chance to send out a gift of gratitude that keeps on giving. For every unique scan of the QR Code on these special Gratitude Certificates, we are creating one of these impacts.

Specifically, just because you scanned the QR Code on the certificate you received, an orphaned koala joey is fed for a day. Thank you for playing a part in creating a world full of giving with us. We wish you a lovely Season of Giving and a wonderful year ahead!
